Weekend 16th March 2013 Match Reports
U12s
As expected due to the bank holiday weekend, Ballincollig travelled to Bandon short a few key players. However those that travelled gave a spirited display against a quality Bandon side. The Bandon lads always had the upper hand due to their pace but the Ballincollig lads gave as good as they got over the four 10min games. Tries from both sides never came easy but thankfully there were no injuries to report. A repeat fixture with all the Ballincollig squad available would be a game to watch. Training Tuesday night at 6.30 pm.
U13s
In a very tough and competitive game that produced 8 tries Ballincollig U13s were beaten by a very good Cork Constitution side. Cork Constitution scored first and after some great play by the Ballincollig forwards Kieran O’ Driscoll went over for a great try. A great passing move by the Ballincollig backs ended up with Jamie Holland beating 2 Cork Constitution defenders to go over in the corner. More powerful rucking and mauling by the Ballincollig forwards was rewarded by a try scored by Tiernan Quinn. Good performers for Ballincollig were newcomer Cillian O’ Sullivan, Ciaran Curzon, Cathal Quirke, Eoin O’ Neill and in the forwards Mikey Fitton, Reece O’ Donoghue and Conor Coughlan. All 28 of the Ballincollig squad took part in the match. Training every Wednesday at 6.30 to 8.00 and new members are always welcome.
Weekend 23rd March 2013 Fixtures
ALL Mini Rugby fixtures are cancelled this weekend due to waterlogged pitches.
U12 v Killorglin Home kick off 1:45pm Sunday March 24th
