Ballincollig 7 v Highfield 11

We were at home to Highfield this week, and expected a very eager contest. We started off by putting them under pressure, which resulted in us being awarded a penalty, but were unable to take the points. The miss was felt all the more when they put a few fazes together to score a try, although they missed the conversion. Our luck was short lived, our discipline let us down and they were awarded and converted a penalty. With half time looming we lifted our heads, worked it up the middle and scored under the post and landed the conversion. We kept the pressure up in the second half, but couldn’t hold on the any type of possession. Highfield were defending well, and were awarded a penalty, which was converted to leave us four points behind. We put enormous pressure on to get the try we needed to win, but it never came. Great commitment from the squad, a game we could and should have won, we let slip away from us.

Mini fixtures for this weekend have been cancelled by Dolphin.  Training as usual at 10am.
