Ballincollig Women returned to winning ways following their 12 – 7 defeat to Nenagh Ormond last weekend, with a 12 – 0 victory at home to New Ross on Sunday.
The Leinster side were denied the first score in the opening ten minutes, when their penalty attempt dropped short of the posts. With the visitors reduced to fourteen, following a high tackle in the closing stages of the half, Sinead O’ Callaghan crossed the line to register the first try of the afternoon. Breda Leonard was unlucky to miss the difficult conversion in what was the last play of the half, for the home side to lead 5 – 0 at the break.
