Under 12s

Ballincollig v Crosshaven

Ballincollig travelled to Crosshaven on yet another dry but cold Saturday morning. Both squads had healthy numbers so two separate games took place at the same time. Both games went the way of Ballincollig, our lads showing more intensity in the tackle all over the pitch. Our ability to find the gaps in the Crosshaven defence led to some good individual tries. Effort could not be faulted by all on show. Some tougher tests to come but all in all a good mornings work by the Ballincollig men.

Under 13s

Ballincollig v Muskerry

The U-13s had a great start against a very strong Muskerry side, winning our own kick off and putting Muskerry under pressure right from the start. Both sets of forwards battled bravely for 30 minutes with no side gaining the upper hand. Our front row of James Moore, Kieran O Driscoll and Cian Bradley did a great job in the scrums and rucks. In the second half Muskerry changed tactics and started to run the ball wide and ran in 3 un answered tries. Solid performances by Liam McGeough, Conor Coughlan and Zak Forde kept Ballincollig competing until the whistle. We look forward to playing Old Christians next week. Well done lads. New members always welcome

Under 15s

Ballincollig 5 v Bantry 5

Ballincollig under 15s added another point to their league tally with a drawn game against Bantry in Tanner Park last Saturday. This was a very competitive and entertaining game with some great rugby played by both teams. Ballincollig got the better of the scrums but Bantry were stronger in the lineouts and both backlines showed good attacking and defensive skills. This game was so tight there was no score till the last 20 mins of the game where Ballincollig scored an unconverted try in the corner which came from the forwards who set up the ball for the backs to score. With five minutes to go Bantry scored an unconverted try after applying good pressure inside the Ballincollig 22 meter line to level the score and the game. It is very encouraging to see how this young Ballincollig team is developing both in performance and character. Ballincollig are off to Crosshaven next week to get the win.

Well done Lads
