Ballincollig 8 v Skibbereen 26
Ballincollig under 15s were beaten by a strong Skibbereen team yesterday in a top of the table clash. There was some good rugby played by both teams with Ballincollig doing well in the scrums and line outs. There was some great defence and attacking play by both sets of backs. Ballincollig’s try was one of the best tries you would see at this level with the ball set up by the forwards and played along the back line with Stephan O’Regan the fullback scoring in the corner after receiving a beautiful pass from Ben Keohane. With ten minutes to go Ballincollig were still in touch with the score at 12 points to 8 but poor discipline caused a penalty to be reversed which resulted in Skibbereen scoring a try in the corner. Even though Ballincollig were beaten this team proved they have the capabilities to beat any team with a bit more experience and discipline. Next week Ballincollig take on Muskerry in a local derby
